FAQ
Q. What are the delivery times on your blinds?
A. Made-to-measure blinds and slats are usually delivered within 5 to 7 working days. Stock spare parts are normally dispatched within 48 hours. See our delivery page for full details.
Q. How much is delivery?
A. UK delivery is £5.95, and free on orders over £60. Northern Ireland is a flat £14.95. The Scottish Highlands are charged the same as the rest of the UK. For offshore islands, please contact us before ordering.
Q. Can I wash my vertical blind slats?
A. Vertical blind slats are washable only if it states so in the product listing. Most vertical blind slats aren’t washable but can be cleaned with a damp sponge. See the Measuring and fitting page for vertical blind cleaning instructions.
Q. Will your vertical blind slats fit my existing track or rail?
A. Our vertical blind slats fit 99% of vertical blind rails, including Hillarys blinds. Look at the photo below of a vertical blind slat and note the hanger sewn into the top on the left. If yours looks the same (one or two holes are fine) then yes, they will fit. Some of our hangers have two holes, one above the other. The top one can be snipped off with scissors if required, but for the vast majority of vertical blinds this isn't necessary.

Q. Where should I measure from when ordering replacement vertical blind slats?
A. Unhook one of your existing slats, lay it flat and measure the overall length of the fabric, hem to hem. You don't need to allow for the overlap or hem; we do that.
Q. Can I return made-to-measure blinds or slats?
A. Made-to-measure items can't be returned unless they're faulty, damaged or not what you ordered, so please double-check your measurements. Unused stock spare parts can be returned within 30 days. See our refund policy.
Q. My slats are the wrong size. What should I do?
A. Please email sales@just-blinds.co.uk with your order number and the measurements you need, and we'll help you sort it out. Items made to the sizes supplied can't be refunded.
Q. How do I measure a bay window or a conservatory for blinds?
A. Take a look at our measuring guide for blinds. If you need any further help, email sales@just-blinds.co.uk or call 0800 783 9510.
Q. Do you supply blinds overseas?
A. No, sorry. Due to courier limitations we can't deliver outside the UK.
Q. Can I screw the blinds to UPVC windows?
A. Yes you can. Be sure to ask us for face fix brackets when ordering your new blinds.
Q. My vertical blinds aren't tilting correctly. One or more of the blind slats aren't lined up.
A. Sometimes in transit the mechanism inside the rail can be jolted out of sync. It's very easy to remedy. Pull the control chain to tilt the blinds until the slats, or most of them, are closed. Continue pulling slowly but firmly and you will hear a clicking sound; keep pulling until the clicking stops. Now pull the chain in the opposite direction and do the same again. Your slats should now be realigned. You can see a video about this here.
Q. I only have a vertical blind rail. How do I know if the rail is for 3.5 inch or 5 inch slats?
A. Measure the distance between the pegs that the blind slats hook on to. If it's around 3 inches (7.5cm), your rail takes 3.5" (89mm) slats. If it's around 4.5 inches, your rail takes 5" (127mm) slats.
Q. Do your replacement vertical blind slats come ready to hang?
A. Yes. They are supplied in rolled-up sets. Undo the security tape that holds the roll, hang the slats, then attach the weights and chains.
Q. Can I have a fabric sample before ordering my new blinds?
A. Yes of course. If you have any doubt about the shade or quality of the fabric, email sales@just-blinds.co.uk for a sample before you order. Screens can't always show the true colour of a fabric, and shades vary between devices.
Q. Why are your vertical blinds so cheap?
A. Many online blind shops don't make their own blinds. We are manufacturers specialising in made-to-measure vertical blinds and replacement vertical blind slats. We manufacture large amounts each week as we also supply other blind companies, which lets us sell at trade prices.
Q. How do I fit my new vertical blinds?
A. All our blinds arrive with fitting instructions. You can also find vertical blind fitting instructions and a video here.
Q. What is offgassing?
A. Offgassing, sometimes called outgassing, describes the smell given off for a short time by products made from PVC. If you buy PVC slats or blinds, you may notice this smell briefly. Keep the room ventilated, and wipe the product down with a sponge and soapy water or mild detergent to speed things up.
